YOGA
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”
— The Bhagavad Gita
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice with a wide array of styles and schools that weave together specific body shapes, breath awareness, and meditation.
In Western culture, hatha yoga is perhaps the most well-known yoga practice. It is a breath-connected practice that encourages us to focus inwards and increase our awareness of the body through a series of postures known as asanas.
Yoga can help us to:
connect to ourselves and to others
strengthen the body and increase flexibility
release tension and calm the mind
create space and balance in both body and mind
cultivate awareness, compassion and ease
support our well-being
About Yoga Classes & Sessions
My yoga teaching is inspired by hatha yoga and rooted in accessibility and trauma sensitivity. All of my classes and sessions aim to be accessible and based around invitational cues. You are encouraged to honour your own needs and go at your own pace, and modifications are always offered so you can adjust the practice to suit you.
I facilitate classes at my Cambridge-based studio, Yoga at the Barn, and also offer individual sessions for those that have more specific needs.

What People Are Saying
“Ashley has a way of making yoga accessible and enjoyable, that I’ve not experienced before. I leave sessions with Ashley feeling I know myself better than before, I have a greater sense of how I move and what sorts of practice feels right for me. I now have a sustained self-practice that was jump-started by my sessions with Ashley”

“I did pregnancy yoga 1:1 with Ashley during my first pregnancy. She is BEYOND knowledgeable about movement, anatomy, pregnancy and birth. And to top it off she provided plenty of time in our sessions for deep relaxation - which was what I needed!”
